The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.


- Analysis and design of the Unified Data Platform, including data models for various business and operational requirements.

- Grasp / master new technologies rapidly as needed to progress varied initiatives

- Break down complex data issues and resolve them

- Function as a hands-on contributor of data related tasks in complex projects

- Provide subject matter expertise for data management and modeling challenges

- Partner with all enterprise application development teams to design, model, and implement data requirements

- Evaluate and implement tools and strategies for databases, ETL, MDM, reporting and analytics

- Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions

- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems

- Build technical documentation

- Performance tuning, understanding explain and execution plans

- Work with the business to understand informational requirements and make technical decisions to address such requirements.

- Actively participate in all phases of the SDLC from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation phases to ensure delivery of the designed solution within required timeframes.

- Help develop and maintain Power BI reporting templates

- Create an end-to-end vision for how data will flow through the application


- US citizen - Secret clearance or ability to hold a Secret clearance. - BS 16-18, MS 14+, Phd 10+ - At least 10 years of enterprise data architecture experience

- At least 5 years of experience with enterprise DBMS (ie Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server)

- At least 5 years of public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ETL tools, and metadata repositories

- At least 3 years working with high-availability systems

- Knowledge of Army data standards and Army data policies

- 5+ years of influencing leadership in the fields of database, data warehousing or data sciences

- 3+ years of experience working with data consumption patterns

- 3+ years of experience working with automated build and continuous integration systems

- 10+ years of experience with Unix or Linux systems

- 3+ years of experience working with automated build and continuous integration systems

- 3+ years Power BI expertise

- Strong technical knowledge of data integration tools, data modeling tools, metadata tools, and database design. ETL processes, BI analytics and development strategies.

- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Power BI)

- At least 5 years of experience with Relational DB such as Postgres, MysQL and NoSQL Technologies such as or MongoDB and data-warehousing products such as Snowflake or Redshift
