Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAIC is currently looking for Cyber Analyst to support the execution of systems engineering integration and test activities for the Remote Sensing (RS) Directorate at SMC, with responsibilities for the Air Force’s Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Environmental Monitoring space and ground systems across the full development and operational lifecycle.

Cyber Analysts are needed with the following functional skills:

- Manage and support Cybersecurity program
- Provide systems administrator support including hardware and software maintenance
Job Specific Responsibilities:

- Execute and evolve a Government-approved enterprise Cybersecurity program in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 – Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD 8570.01M – Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
- Assist in executing the goals and objectives laid out in the Remote Sensing Cybersecurity Strategic Vision and RS Cyber Campaign Plan documents.
- Assist in evolving the Remote Sensing Cybersecurity Strategic Vision and RS Cyber Campaign Plan in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 –Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology, as directed by the government.
- Review and assess the Prime contractor IA certification programs at the intra- program level.
- Work with the RS Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) lead provide technical support to design, transition and implement DCO capabilities.
- Provide real-time 24x7 hardware maintenance support for DCO and supplementary computer and communication equipment at operational sites. Support includes scheduled and unscheduled preventive/corrective actions and emergency maintenance on system devices and infrastructures.
- Report, track, and document problems; monitor progress of unresolved problems; and present updates of system status to both government and CLS personnel.
- Notify the Government of any deviations from requirements and provide recommendations for resolution.
Other duties:

- Provide interim system administration support to prototype DCO capabilities, until government personnel or separately contracted personnel provide DCO system administration support
- Provide hardware maintenance support to prototype DCO capabilities until government personnel, or separately contracted personnel, assume this role.
- Provide interim DCO engineering support to prototype DCO capabilities, until government personnel or separately contracted personnel provide DCO engineering support.
- Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.
- Conducts risk and vulnerability assessment at the network, system and application level.
- Conducts threat modeling exercises.
- Develops and implements security controls and formulates operational risk mitigations along with assisting in security awareness programs. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
- Researches, evaluates and recommends new security tools, techniques, and technologies and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy.
- Utilizes COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusions.
- Assists in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6/3), and makes recommendations on process tailoring.
- Performs analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
- Supports the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
- Periodically conducts a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.
- May support cyber metrics development, maintenance and reporting.
- May provide briefings to senior staff. Utilizes COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusions.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience is required for this position
- Ability to recommend/make decisions on project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives

DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

- Security+ and CISSP Certification
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- Aerospace experience, preferably with large space systems program developments in DOD or NASA
- Working in highly dynamic and challenging environments
