SAIC has an opening for a Critical Space Launch Support System Service Engineer who possess proven working knowledge of space launch systems and processes. S/he will develop briefings and assessments to a variety of audiences and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership. They will support strategic planning as well as cradle to grave launch and launch support activities.


- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners
- Substantive experience providing risk assessments and risk-management recommendations to program managers in support of successful mission accomplishment;
- Delivers effective briefings/presentations/papers on complex topics for audiences that may be large and/or include high-level decision makers
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing requirements and tasks and managing longterm tasks as well as short-term obligations
- Ability to effectively provide guidance to more junior LSEs
Continuously monitor contractor performance through active participation in recurring status meetings, technical interchange meetings, schedule reviews, risk meetings, etc.

Review system specifications and facilitate government comments with the contractor

Review system test and evaluation specifications and facilitate government comments with the contractor

Review test plans and procedures and facilitate government comments with the contractor

Review and evaluate contractor/subcontractor RFIs and flag technical issues/concerns for the customer

Plan and facilitate facility strategic plan working group meetings, document and distribute minutes, and develop reports and presentations to capture results

Coordinate system engineering and project management processes across divisions and ensure standardization where possible

Review ECRs for technical accuracy and completeness

Participate in contractor CCBs, as required

Develop Statements of Objectives for contract engineering change proposals

Perform “shoulder-to- shoulder” reviews with contractor during ECP development

Perform technical evaluations of contractor ECPs and document in memoranda to the CC/CO

Review Operations Concepts (conops) for new or modified systems

Provide recommendations for project budgets and execution

Create and provide status briefings and reports on project execution

The Critical Space Launch Support System Services Engineer will focus on: Technical and Engineering Assessments and Recommendations, Programmatic and Operational Assessments and Recommendations. PM for new 5m processing facility; SCTS prime mover; Support host base readiness & EMS SE Management; Apply 3DMSS (e.g. new 5m processing facility); media creation (e.g. commercial processing video); AoAs (e.g. alt transport study).

Required Education and experience
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
- In addition:

- 10 years space launch experience
- 5 years Government acquisition experience
- 5 years of customer/client experience
