Lloyd’s List Intelligence, part of the international Informa Group, has a new opportunity for a Credit Analyst to join our credit reports team. In this exciting role the Analyst will be responsible for researching and reporting on marine, commodity and energy companies located across the world, with an emphasis on Asia-Pacific businesses. We are looking for a candidate who will immerse themselves in data and industry developments, and ensure that Lloyd’s List Intelligence continues to produce high-frequency and insightful analysis for our global client base.

Our Analysts produce a range of tailored reports on the corporate, operational and financial status of marine and energy companies, as well as on their market standing. Reports are prepared within a stipulated timescale, often to tight deadlines. The Credit Analyst will also be required to conduct regular training and quality checks on reports produced by other Analysts.

  • Produce accurate and insightful credit reports by analysing financial reports as well as estimating future performance and market standing.
  • Collate data and research from a variety of sources, including both secondary and primary research.
  • Maintain a network of contacts via phone and email, in order to improve your understanding of the shipping industry and monitor key market developments.
  • Work closely with the senior management team in order to identify areas of product improvement, by monitoring client needs, market developments and potential investment opportunities.
Required Skills
  • Required to be proficient (both spoken and written) in English and one other Asian language, preferably Mandarin. Utility in more than one Asian language is a bonus.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to persuade others
Required Experience
  • Past work experience in the Maritime, Commodity and/or Energy sectors is preferable but not strictly necessary
  • A demonstrable background in analysing company financial data
