Perspecta has an immediate need for a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Planner in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include:

Evaluates the risks and vulnerabilities of business functions, reviews the current COOP environment, and validates recovery objectives and current technology against the business objectives.
Leads the development and implementation of an integrated scenario-based COOP plan.
Designs and administers the COOP program to include policies, standards, guidelines, training programs, and a viable QA process for disaster recovery.
Provides the experience, knowledge and best practices to assist the client wih incorporating cost-effective recovery strategies with a strong return on investment (ROI) using current technologies, or emerging capabilities.
Identifies process gaps, interdependencies, ineffective procedural changes.
Performs COOP testing, training, and exercises with customer community.
Provides inputs & corrective actions after a crisis to improve planning designs



  • A Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience in business continuity planning or related emergency management roles


  • Experience with designing, drafting, editing and implementing COOP and COOP related emergency plans.
  • Understanding of COOP order of operations, from the Readiness and Preparation Phase to the Reconstitution and Devolution of Operations.
  • Superior communication and time management skills
  • Able to provide efficient oversight, management and compliance with Senate policies and federal security related frameworks.
  • Any certification in business continuity planning or Business Continuity Management (BCM) certification from Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) International (DRII), preferred
  • FEMA Certified Continuity Practitioner Level 1 or 2 preferred
