Job Summary

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) works with Business Stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements and translates the requirements through analysis and design into functional solutions. The BSA is a subject matter expert in one or more functional areas. The BSA establishes and executes the testing strategy for projects and production support fixes.

As Eniteo is a “commercial off the shelf” (COTS) product, the BSA coordinates with the product vendor to test and apply fixes and enhancements to all environments. The BSA also manages the upgrade activities.

This role requires a working knowledge of the organization's industry and competitive position. The Business Systems Analyst contributes to the planning/analysis, design and testing phases of a project and works closely with the project manager and other team members to insure project success.

Essential Functions

Requirements Elicitation - Ability to identify a desired future state that addresses a business problem.

  • Configure and administer ERP products, working with all related RTS departments and Vendor.
  • Effectively uses interviewing skills to elicit, identify, and document business requirements for low to medium complexity solutions.
  • Precisely and consistently captures business problems.
  • Prioritize business requirements to identify the most critical needs.

Requirements Management and Analysis - Ability to define, document and manage business requirements to the smallest set that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives.

  • Accurately translate business requirements into functionality.
  • Manage requirements to meet business expectations.
  • Document the current business process and the desired "to be" state.
  • Work on one or more low to medium complexity implementations/deployments.

Creating Compelling Business Case - Ability to measure and communicate proposed project benefits.

  • Clearly articulate the impact of business problems and benefits using business language.

Providing Accurate Project Effort Estimates - Ability to quantify and meet individual and project phase level efforts.

  • Create, manage and meet accurate project effort estimates for assigned tasks.
  • Adheres to RTS project methodology throughout project lifecycle.

Designing for Usability - Ability to translate business requirements into business solutions for end-user adoption and productivity improvement.

  • Incorporate usability and user interface (UI) efficiencies into business solutions.
  • Understand the business data needs as it relates to a potential solution.

Business Requirements Testing and Validation - Managing traceability of business requirements through testing and validation process.

  • Ensure that business requirements have been met through testing and validation.
  • Execute functional testing and validation of proposed solution.
  • Develop effective use cases to test solution to business requirements.
  • Document validation results and address any that were not as expected.

User Acceptance Testing - Collaborates with stakeholder in testing for acceptance of end user business solution.

  • Build user acceptance test cases.
  • Coordinate testing with end users.
  • Provide clarification on basic questions of solution testing.
  • Support the training of end-users on business solutions.

Functional Design - Ability to translate business requirements to functional designs using analysis and design techniques.

  • Provide the link between the business and technical views of the system.
  • Can listen to and understand technological constraints.
  • Clarify the business rationale of a solution concept.

Business Relationship Management - Ability to engage business sponsors and contribute to their targeted business outcomes.

  • Proactively resolve customer satisfaction issues.
  • Provide support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.
  • Manage timely flow of information to users.

Adherence to Standards - Ability to create solutions that adhere to and incorporate RTS standards.

  • Maintain library of documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
  • Applies and uses information and technology standards in design of solution.
  • Obtains key inputs from Enterprise Architecture groups to ensure compliance and exception management.
  • Adheres to project management methodology.

  • Pursue training and development opportunities; Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills.
  • Assist personnel in other RTS departments to resolve technical and/or application issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, Business management or equivalent work experience in a related field required
  • 1+ years of Metals industry or Supply Chain experience required.
  • 2+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting ERP applications such as eStelplan, Eniteo, Microsoft Dynamics AX, SAP and Oracle at a business user level required.
  • Core understanding of ERP terms, functionality and end-to-end system process flow required.
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow or equivalent IT Service Management platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products required.
  • Technical or administrative experience with collaboration tools like SharePoint and Box preferred.
  • Capable of learning new systems and implementing new system functionality.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of SQL and databases.
  • Exposure to financial business reporting applications like Business Objects, HFM, eRAM, FAS, or equivalent a strong plus.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
