Ovum, part of Informa, has an exciting opportunity in our fast growing regional office in Singapore for an experienced Business Development Manager looking to join a world leader in telecoms, media and technology business intelligence.

 

Ovum provides business intelligence within the Telecoms, Media and Technology markets, creating tangible business advantage for customers by providing actionable intelligence that can be relied upon in evaluating opportunities, benchmarking performance, and making better business-critical decisions.

 

Reporting to the Sales Director APAC, you are responsible for driving new business opportunities in the ICT Technology vendors in Singapore.

 

ICT Technology suppliers source information from Ovum to enhance their understanding of technology and markets and provides them with invaluable insights for strategy planning, product development and sales planning purposes.

 

We are seeking applicants that have previously sold business information or related services to ICT technology vendors both nationally and internationally.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for leading specific sales, maintaining and growing existing clients and sourcing new clients, achieving and exceeding sales goals, and implementing creative sales strategies. You will have the opportunity to be involved in following:

  • Be the principle commercial contact between Ovum and your assigned customer.
  • Manage different set of customer stakeholders
  • Managing the internal process to ensure that our customers receive maximum value from their investment
  • Penetrate and develop new business and revenue from a defined list of development accounts
  • Develop and implement new go-to-market ideas

 

 

 

 

 

 

Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS:
You will be a highly motivated top performer looking to take your next challenge in your field of expertise.

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a market research sales capacity, ideally with selling into the ICT Technology or Telecoms sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues and developments within the Telecoms and Technology industry.
  • Ability to discover and close business opportunities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues and developments within the industry.
  • Determined capacity to penetrate large corporate accounts.
  • Enthusiastic, competitive, results-driven and solutions-orientated with a strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Strong team player and superb interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated good business acumen is vital
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers
  • Ability to consult with clients and solve a business problem with the application of our products or services.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-term customer relationships with senior-level managers.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging environment requiring high degree of deadline-driven productivity, commitment, adaptability, communication, initiative and follow-through.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
