Job Description

WardsAuto Intelligence, part of Informa Business Intelligence, is seeking a highly motivated sales professional in its London office. We currently have a need for a Business Development Account Executive to build and manage our European customer base. This results-oriented, customer-focused professional will be responsible for building our presence through prospecting, lead management, upselling existing customers and attention to ongoing customer retention and renewal.

Our respected analysts offer global in-depth automotive industry data, trends, forecasts, competitive analyses, and benchmarks via a variety of products and services to help our clients decode the market opportunities and potential threats of an evolving auto industry. The WardsAuto Intelligence products help key decision-makers within automakers, suppliers and financial institutions. With increasing technology in our autos, new fuel economy and emissions standards on the horizon, and ongoing global integration, the suite of WardsAuto services sold by this position presents a great opportunity for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Meet and exceed established KPIs, including an annual quota for new sales and customer retention
  • Introducing the company’s information capabilities to prospective customers and crafting proposals based on customer needs
  • Nurturing and expanding the company’s relationship with customer accounts of all sizes
  • Developing and managing a strong sales pipeline, prospecting and assessing sales opportunities, and moving a number of transactions simultaneously through the sales pipeline
  • Providing regular reporting of pipeline, forecasts, and customer feedback
  • Keeping abreast of automotive industry news and developments for an understanding of customer issues, market trends, and competitor services
  • Practicing effective, excellent communication with management, customers and support staff
  • Traveling to customer locations in support of sales efforts, primarily in France and Germany

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ year track record of closing sales and achieving overall revenue goals
  • Proven track record in building a new territory
  • Experience selling across global geographies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills
  • Successful selling remotely (by phone, email and WebEx) as well as in person
  • Experience in automotive consulting or intelligence is desired, but not a requirement
  • Bachelors’ degree
  • Experience selling subscriptions or services in a B2B environment preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed to company events, industry conferences, customers and prospects
