Perspecta is currently hiring a highly regarded Business Development executive within the Federal Government arena, with proven ability to grow business in the Navy Mission market, specifically: NAVAIR, NAVSEA, NAVFAC, FLTCYBER, CNMOC, ONR, ONI, and INDOPACOM

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in identifying and winning new business, and in leading business development teams in capturing targeted programs in the Defense market. It is important for the candidate to have experience building a robust, targeted pipeline of opportunities that will drive and ensure growth goals. The most critical skill sets required are strong strategic planning abilities and an unrelenting focus on winning business with a record of big wins in the key customer segments: NAVAIR, NAVSEA, NAVFAC, FLTCYBER, CNMOC, ONR, ONI, and INDOPACOM

It is also important that the candidate have a Rolodex of contacts and relationships within the IT and systems integration community and the government client community, specifically across Navy Mission customers.


  • Manages and leverages resources to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities
  • Achieve growth and new business sales goals through winning new business, securing contract recompetes, and driving organic program growth
  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities in alignment and consistent with corporate strategy and goals
  • Primary interface with customer community and building customer relationships through effective communications, both with internal and external customer bases
  • Develop strategies to "shape" requirements and acquisition strategy
  • Identify and target new business markets, adjacencies, and partnerships
  • Assist in guiding buying organizations by demonstrating technology solutions, architectures, capabilities, and potential acquisition paths for early stage opportunities, working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses for requests for information (RFI), market surveys, white papers, presentations, briefings, and major event demonstrations.


  • 12-15 years related work experience with a majority related to business development, marketing, or technical and engineering solutions in the Defense Market space
  • Bachelors degree or additional equivalent military or work experience
  • A successful record of supporting and winning contracts with Navy Mission customers
  • Proven experience in building relationships with strategic teaming partners (prime and sub).
  • Ability to develop and mature key relationships within the customers organizations
  • Ability to operate independently but still retain an enterprise focus
  • Demonstrated understanding of clients needs in order to align Perspectas capabilities and core values.
  • Proven ability to structure key partnerships and alliances and to establish and grow new relationships is a critical success factor.
  • Must demonstrate high energy, integrity, strong business acumen, professionalism and commitment.
  • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients.
  • Demonstrated experience with the maze of rules, regulations and idiosyncrasies that drive the Federal Government technology capture process.
  • Prior experience working directly for federal government agencies - preferred
