Job Summary

The Department of Physiology and Saha Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Kentucky is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to provide at the Associate Professor level to contribute to the collegial interactive group that have strengths in vascular pathology. The preferred candidate would have an active extramurally funded program that emphasizes the role of the renin angiotensin system in the development of atherosclerosis. In addition, additional qualifications include a strong and protracted publication record and history of engagement with the intra- and extra-mural research community.

The Department of Physiology is a diverse community of basic science researchers. Our areas of research include cardiovascular, neuroscience, metabolic disease and aging. Within those areas of research are 37 primary faculty, 8 joint faculty, 16 trainees and numerous laboratory staff. With over $10M in extramural support in FY19, our award-winning investigators are making major advances in biomedical research. Our training programs are preparing scientists for successful careers in academia, industry and government. Our education faculty touch the lives of over 2,000 undergraduate, professional and graduate students each academic year.
