Job Description

The role of Associate Director, Consumer Marketing is to evaluate market conditions, identify issues and opportunities within a category, develop strategies and work with cross-functional partners to create and implement tactics aligned with the strategies and objectives. The Associate Director will need to possess a strong business acumen, digital marketing expertise, content management, and proven channel delivery experience. The AD must also have the ability to engage, manage trade-offs and collaborate with cross-functional teams and agencies to deliver timely and high impact results.

This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Consumer Strategic Marketing and will be responsible to help deliver an enhanced, holistic, consumer-focused approach to marketing, better enabling us to live our mission to be a global leader in generics and biopharmaceuticals, improving the lives of patients.

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Implements strategic and operational brand plans in the consumer/patient space
  • Plans and develops tactics aligned with predefined strategies and establishes timelines and budgets with minimal oversight
  • Works with agency partners to create, develop and implement tactical plans and provides input on strategy and direction from the brand team
  • Manages overall and specific budgets to achieve defined targets
  • Analyzes market data and information and makes informed decisions
  • Professional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of profession, wide experience and exposure, understanding of solutions
  • Business Acumen: Initiatives beyond own area, draws insights from variety of sources, understands market and competition
  • Excellence in Execution: Meets objectives and deadlines, promotes efficiency and effectiveness, incorporates improvement and program ROI
  • Analysis: Compiles relevant data from appropriate sources and performs analysis for the department; Synthesizes complex and diverse information, recognizes trends and/or interrelationships
Qualifications

Education/Certification/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred
  • 7 years of consumer marketing experience required, CPG experience preferred
  • 5 years of experience with background in healthcare digital communications and marketing, inclusive of social/digital channel management helpful
  • Experience working with teams to develop brand strategy and core messaging
  • Experience in customer relationship marketing (CRM), digital marketing, and social media
  • Experience working with legal and compliance teams
  • Experience managing multiple agency partners
  • Exercises independent judgement in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, experience with primary and secondary market research
  • Strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills for internal and external cross functional alignment
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels within a matrix environment
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Approximately 25% domestic travel throughout the US.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Occasional:
  • Sitting for extended periods of time at work station or mobile equipment.
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed on site visits (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
