The office of the chief of staff is responsible for oversight and guidance for all projects at Perspecta. The chief of staff organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the CEO and executive team to facilitate efficient decision making, and acts as a liaison between top management and other stakeholders. The office also manages congressional engagement, as well as provides oversight of the quality excellence and security organizations.


A dynamic, well organized and highly motivated individual with prior relevant experience to serve as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to ensure full-scope program support and compliance in the Herndon, VA area. The AFSO will be responsible for ensuring the companys adherence to policies, practices, and procedures of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and for implementing the policies, practices, and procedures contained within. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate security procedures to employees and subcontractors, and provide guidance and assistance to project managers and staff in meeting security requirements
  • Provide oversight of the processing of new employee security clearances including tracking within JPAS (Joint Personnel Adjudication System) and Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
  • Oversight and administration for a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness programs for cleared employees to include conducting Initial Security Briefings, Refresher Training, and Debriefings
  • Maintain all security documentation and files accurately for document control, visitor control, and personnel security actions using Access Commander and in accordance with requirements
  • Responsible for issuance of Visit Authorization Letters
  • Create and modify Subcontract DD254s for multiple customers
  • Investigate and review security violations, and prepare reports
  • Ensure that terminated cleared employees receive security debriefings and complete the security out-processing.


  • Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
  • Must possess an active TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Must have experience with DOD processes and procedures or an equivalent regulatory environment and/or military training
  • Must have a complete understanding of NISPOM
  • Must possess the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of problems
  • Strong communication, computer, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to initiate and plan projects, and analyze and interpret data
  • The ability to produce appropriate clear, concise and detailed documentation
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team
  • Proficiency with JPAS, DISS, and e-QIP
  • Completion of FSO Program Management for Possessing or Non-Possessing Facilities Curriculum a plus
  • Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Certification a plus
  • Access Commander database experience a plus
