To promote efficient administrative business processes through independent analysis and design, and facilitate the effective use of administrative information systems.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

Direct Marketing Coordination (40%)
• This position is responsible for developing an integrative marketing and communications strategy for the Annual Giving program. Under the direction of the Director, he/she will compose and edit fundraising appeals for direct mail and electronic communications. He/She will recommend and implement targeted approaches for alumni, parents, and friends of the institution in solicitation activities as well as other communications such as social media initiatives and website updates.
• This position has primary responsibility for solicitation segmentation, project management, and analysis across all direct marketing channels including: mail, email, and web-based platforms.

Analysis and Reporting (30%)
• Analyze solicitation results and any other considerations that impact program to inform future strategy and ensure that goals are being met. Recommends improvements based on analysis and best practices and trends in the field.
• Prepare necessary weekly and monthly program and solicitation statistical reports.
• Actively seek new ideas to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency of the direct marketing program.
• Report on response rates, average gift, and dollars raised by solicitation type. Develop other reporting metrics to drive strategic plans.

Stewardship (10%)
• Travels to visit local prospects as necessary.
• Manages donor acknowledgement. Produces acknowledgement letters, coordinates donor stewardship amongst various departments across campus, and maintains accurate records of donor correspondence and stewardship.

Gift Processing and Database Maintenance (10%)
• Processes in a timely manner all annual gifts and pledges to Thayer School of Engineering. Acts as liaison for Annual Gifts received through the Central Development Office.
• Coordinates matching gift payment from corporations with gift processing department.
• Maintains accurate alumni records. Updates software as needed.
Volunteer Management and General Support (10%)
• Supports the Director's efforts with the management and support for 85+ annual fund volunteers, including recruiting, reporting, communications, and engagement strategies.
• Serves as primary contact for Annual Fund and Alumni Relations toll-free telephone number; accepts donations, answers questions, directs queries to appropriate staff, and troubleshoots as needed.
• Processes invoices and acts as a liaison to the accounting office.
• Prepares and coordinates travel arrangements and Business Reimbursement Forms for the Director.
• Coordinates, attends, and participates in various meetings and events as requested by the supervisor.
• Coordinates and arranges meeting event management needs, such as facility space, catering, and set-up.
• Supports the department of Advancement as needs arise.
