Oregon State University’s College of Education is seeking an Assistant Dean of Education Licensure and Accreditation. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, 12-month, fixed-term professional faculty position. The Assistant Dean of Education Licensure and Accreditation serves as the OSU administrator of Teacher and Counselor Education Licensure, which encompasses undergraduate and graduate programs. They will liaise with state and national governance and accrediting agencies and lead program and policy development. The position also manages the Office of Student Services and Education Licensure. As a member of the College’s leadership team, this position collaborates to ensure the College is meeting its licensure, accreditation, and strategic goals, including those for equity, diversity, and inclusion. Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate in related field
  • 3 years of K-12 teaching and/or K-12 administrative experience
  • Experience working with teacher education and/or counselor education candidates
  • Demonstrated policy development and/or maintenance experience with an academic licensure program
  • 6 years of leadership experience with management responsibilities including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing and supervising performance of staff
  • Experience in financial analysis, budget planning, and forecasting, using appropriate software and applications
  • Experience leading the writing of large-scale reports for teacher education and/or counseling education accreditation and assessment
  • Experience leading school/university partnerships and collaborations
  • Experience in contract negotiation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation and licensure requirements for school counseling and teacher education
  • Demonstrated commitment to enhancing diversity and social justice
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a higher education system
  • Proven ability to work strategically on complex issues

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • 8 or more years of K-12 teaching and/or K-12 administrative experience
  • A distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and service that merits appointment as an associate or full professor or equivalent experience that merits an appropriate faculty appointment
  • Experience in writing and managing research grants via competitive proposal process
  • Established research profile related to Licensure
  • Proven record of accomplishment in solving complex challenges collaboratively
